The Rockchip Batch Tool is an official Windows-based utility designed to flash, upgrade, or restore stock firmware on devices powered by Rockchip (RK) processors. It is widely used to unbrick or update Android TV boxes, tablets, and single-board computers (such as those using RK3229, RK3328, or RK3399 chips).
Follow this step-by-step tutorial to safely flash your Rockchip device using the tool. 📋 Prerequisites & Requirements Before starting, ensure you gather the following items: A Windows PC: Compatible with Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, or 11.
USB Data Cable: A high-quality USB male-to-male or USB OTG cable.
Rockchip Driver Assistant: The software pack needed for Windows to communicate with the chip. Rockchip Batch Tool: The application executable.
Correct Stock Firmware: A specific .img file tailored precisely to your device model. Warning: Flashing the wrong firmware can permanently brick your device. 🛠️ Step 1: Install the Rockchip USB Drivers
Your computer cannot communicate with the device in flash mode without proper drivers.
Download and extract the Radxa Wiki Rockchip Driver Assistant (RKDriverAssistant.zip).
Open the extracted folder and double-click DriverInstall.exe.
If you have older Rockchip drivers installed, click Uninstall Driver first.
Click Install Driver. Wait for the success pop-up, then close the installer. 📂 Step 2: Load the Firmware into Rockchip Batch Tool Download and extract the Rockchip Batch Tool archive.
Right-click RKBatchTool.exe and select Run as administrator.
At the top right of the tool interface, click the ellipsis (…) or FW Path button.
Browse your files, select your device’s stock firmware (.img), and click Open.
The tool will scan and log a message saying “Loading firmware…” followed by “Loading firmware success”. 🔌 Step 3: Boot the Device into Loader/Flash Mode
To write the firmware, your device must be connected to the PC in a special bootloader state. YouTube·MXQ PROJECT Rockchip 3229,3328, 3288, 3399
